Founded in 2004 by three Italian friends desperate for a less mainstream/pop mid-week clubbing experience The Italian Factory brings the very best in minimal, electro and house music to Dublin, for a night not to be missed!
Andrew's Lane Theatre (A.L.T.) is a new venue in Dublin. A former play theatre, it's been revamped and redecorated with a new coat of purple paint and - inside and outside - graffiti murals by 'Maser'. It's shockingly hip - but apart from that greasy undercurrent of attitude.

The Photosonic Orchestra ... and more !
this weekend I'll be recording / producing Fabio Cascio' electric bass didattic video, outside Dublin city.
Meanwhile I'm putting together the pieces to start reharsing my new project, 'The Photosonic Orchestra', a color sound ensemble that uses my copyrighted 'photosonic software' to engange the audience in a kind of music that is 'performed choosing the chromatic qualities of sound'.
During mid September, Italian songwriter Max Ciogli will come to Dublin to start a color-sound collaboration; Max is currently attending the Italian Sanremo Music Festival lab, and his new single 'E' già domani' will be on radio soon.
Photos are coming soon ....

Inside Dublin's Ulysses

Although I had spotted a "Gerry Leonard - clone" (with family!) at HMV, and meet a gifted percussion player named Ian in the Grafton Street area, I'm still in the process of getting myself together, after moving from wonderful New York ...
I'm producing (and playing some guitar parts) in the first solo EP by Italian bass player Fabio Cascio (a true Dublin legend), I'll put up some pictures of the rehearsals soon.

... meanwhile I had moved to Rathmines (an Irish version of Brooklyn's Bedford Ave.), I'm not focusing on playing live, but working on improving my 'photosonic guitar' prototypes and dedicating half of my day to work in 'a bank' ... as bill collector!
Almost every monday I join the in - house - band for the 'Jam at the Blue Goose' (at the Blue Goose, in the center of Dublin city), lots of good music and friendly people, plus the food is amazing, so if you're around and want to play a song, request a tune or simply say 'hi', just show up between 9.00 and midnight, and we'll be there.

News, news, news ...

Apart from working on the editing of the "Presence" video (in collaboration with Japanese poet / photographer Tomonori Saito, and Norwegian artist Lill - Torill Andersen, with the collaboration of singer / actor Kenyon Phillips from NY band Unisex Salon), I'm in the process of waiting for to know if I'll be DJing for the third time at this year edition of Skin Two Magazine's Rubber Ball weekend at London SeOne Club.
The pre production of the sequel of 'Photosonic' (temporarily named "Limen") is at the music stage production right now; I'm planning to release the video / audio material related to the making of "Limen" as podcast on iTunes, and release the self titled book "Limen" on the Amazon online store during early September.
Still in beta version is my new website (you can preview it at Web.Mac.com/GD78music ), as soon as it will be finished it will be directly linked to my MySpace page .
More to come ...

I'm also in the middle of the recording of the music for Lars Gerhard documentary on historical New York photographer Erika Stone, plus finishing the last mixing details of my new release 'Bagel Vampire' (my love for funk), and I'll be starting soon to record new material for my second funk record, that will feature special guests along with the use of a wide range of percussions.
Also I'm getting closer to finish the shooting of two videos for rapper MCEC, they'll be posted here and on YouTube sometime during early february, meanwhile here's a shot of me with VJ Eric Dunlap as 'Photosonic' while working on the set of MCEC's 'Call up some friends' video.
