The Oslo Film Festival, Kassell Dokumenta and SoundUnseen Minneapolis Film Festivals are all reviewing PHOTOSONIC for a possible screening during their 2006 editions.
Also the JVC Film Festival is considering PHOTOSONIC for their 2007 edition in Tokyo, and for China (Shanghai) I am waiting to have more news for a possible partecipation as special guest in one the art events during late October.

Ciao Julyo, apart from the festivals screenings, is PHOTOSONIC a movie or a video installation?
Ciao Juan
well PHOTOSONIC should be viewed on a 2 screen video projection system, this because the PHOTOSONIC video disc (DVD) contains 'two ways to look at it'. Due to technical limitations during the festivals (until now), the audience can only see the 'performance view', but there is a 'photosonic view', that shows the color generated by the music and has the same length of the 'performance view'.
That's why the 'photosonic drawings' (that uses the picture stills) are dittics.
The dittic method is totally not connected with the symbolic language of PHOTOSONIC (based on the number 3 and 6), it's used only on a practical basic.
Hi Julyo, I am a VJ from Harajuku, a question for you: I had saw you at MOJO opening party performing with a DJ, you were using a small keyboard (?) to control images, can you tell me more about it?
Hi Hiroshi
the keyboard is a small (maybe the smallest?) Casio MIDI controller I had bought in Akihabara (don't remember where), I am still using it to control synth sounds.
The idea to use it as VJ tool comes out from W. Rimington 'Color Organ'; basically each note makes a color (or an image heavily saturated), and if you play more than one note at the same time, the colors/images goes one on top of each other.
I used to call it 'Clavicién a Lumiere', that in French means 'color organ'.
funny you have the same time of one my good friend that lives in Tokyo too!
mata ne!
